Paul and Vincent is a radio play and multimedia CD,based on real and imagined letters between Paul Gauguin and Vincent Van Gogh, reflecting their stormy relationship at Arles, France.
The CD
incorporates a recording of the sell-out theatrical production at the 2004 4MBS Classic-FM Festival starring actors Eugene Gilfedder and Michael Churven, and featuring images of the works by Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh as well as music from the period. It will appeal to anyone interested in the life and personality of Gauguin and van Gogh, as well as the dilemmas facing artists living in isolation in furtherance of their art.

The work is also available as an .mp3 download of the radio play broadcast on ABC Australia.

Reviews

We travel through his rich monologues to search out the nature of art, of civilsation... I was especially struck by the central idea of letters 'never sent' as poetic speculation, at its most pointed in the wit and bantar between Gauguin and Van Gogh, climaxing in the wonderful Van Gogh commentaries on the famous paintings.
– Philip Salom

Gauguin in the South Seas, Van Gogh in Arles, surfing the Internet... Such is the exciting collage of images Reiter places skillfully before us. Phrases, lines, stories that reflect back and forth touching always on the dream of happiness, the longing to make sense of ourselves.
– Peter Boyle
