Our Streamlined Publishing Process Explained

Initial Manuscript Assessment

We evaluate your manuscript’s potential and provide feedback to help shape its development and direction effectively. All unsolicited submissions are subject to an initial reading fee. Contact us for further information.

Collaborative Editing

Our editors work closely with you, offering constructive insights to refine your narrative and enhance storytelling strength. Editorial loops include structural and content editing and proofreading at various stages of the manuscript’s life.

Marketing and Promotion

We strategise and implement effective marketing plans, utilising various channels to build anticipation and readership for your title. Our creatives are encouraged to play an active part in the marketing campaign, which may include optional services on a fee-for-service basis.

Global Distribution

We ensure your book is widely available through various platforms, maximising its reach to target audiences worldwide via print, POD, eBook and audio book channels. We also attend book fairs and conferences to sell rights to foreign publishers and agents.

From our very early days, IP has encouraged creatives to develop their work from draft to finished stage. Many of our creatives are ’emerging’ authors, from various age groups. In contrast to many traditional publishers who simply reject proposals from authors they don’t recognise, IP has an ‘open-door policy’ that offers assistance to authors whose work is promising but not quite ready for publication. Once a work is accepted into the program, creatives may opt for the following services.

Which Option?

In our experience, opting for the Short Report in the first instance works best. We find that many issues that our editors identify for attention recur throughout the work, so a full assessment may simply reinforce the areas needing attention – at a higher expense.

Many authors then apply the feedback on the key issues identified in the Short Report sample to the rest of their manuscript. Occasionally, authors request a follow-up to the initial Short Report, which we can provide at a 20% discount.
