The Island in Time is a magical picture book adventure about a boy named Noah who sails to a mystical version of his island—Noah’s Island—only to find himself drifting back through the mists of time to ancient Whadjuk Country in what is now Western Australia. Guided by a spiritual talking tree, Noah meets Yellagonga, the proud leader of the Mooro people, and his son Gogalee.
As he learns about the land, language, and the iconic Rainbow Serpent, Noah begins to understand his own roots. A moving blend of imagination and ancestral wisdom, this tale affirms identity, respect for Country, and the quiet power of intergenerational knowledge.
Some islands take you places… this one takes you home.
